LAC LA Chapter Center Completed

Renovations of a room provided by St. Casimir’s Parish for the creation of an Information and Social Services Center were completed by the LAC LA Chapter on 9 February 2008. Renovations were financed by the Lithuanian Foundation and the Department of National Minority and Expatriate Affairs of the Government of Lithuania. Renovations were supervised on a volunteer basis by designer Zita Udrys.

Major work was performed, in part on a volunteer basis, and some materials donated by contractors Tomas and Chester Pachucki. Pasadena Art Center College of Design instructor, Professor Carlos Ferreira also contributed his expertise, on a volunteer basis.

The LAC LA Chapter thanks all of the aforementioned persons for their work, also the funding agencies for their support, and St. Casimir’s Parish Council for providing free of charge a room which will house the Center, serving all LA Lithuanians. The Center is located in the garden next to the garages of the Parish apartment house (former convent).
